Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm vs. Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm 2.0
The two partners had a quarrel and divided the business, perhaps each getting half the animals, and there are currently not many animals on either farm. The new farm claims to be Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm 2.0.
Now both farms call themselves Zhang Mei A Ma Farm. But the name of the new farm added the chinese word “pet”, and it became Zhang Mei Ama Pet Farm (or Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm 2.0).
If you purchase your tickets online, be sure to confirm the address of the farm you are using. The two farms have no relationship with each other, so tickets are not interoperable.

Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm in Yilan
Taiwan is famous for its bustling cities and night markets—but beyond the skyscrapers lies a different kind of magic. In the serene township of Sanxing, Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm offers visitors a refreshing escape into the heart of Taiwan’s rural culture.
This charming, animal-friendly farm in Yilan County blends natural beauty, interactive experiences, and cultural flavor to create one of the most heartwarming destinations in northern Taiwan.
Whether you’re traveling with kids, on a romantic getaway, or simply looking for a peaceful break from urban life, Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm is the perfect countryside retreat. With adorable animals, traditional DIY workshops, and vibrant seasonal scenery, this farm has something for everyone—and it’s quickly becoming one of Taiwan’s most beloved agritourism spots.
A Farm That Feels Like Home
Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm isn’t just about petting animals or posing for pictures—it’s a place that brings people closer to nature and each other. Inspired by the warmth and wisdom of its founder, affectionately known as “Ama” (Grandma), the farm was created to preserve traditional Taiwanese farming values while making them accessible to modern visitors.
Every aspect of the farm reflects that mission. From the way guests are welcomed like family to the hands-on learning experiences designed for all ages, the farm promotes a spirit of connection—between people, animals, and the land itself.
Get Up Close with Friendly Animals
One of the biggest highlights at Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm is the variety of adorable animals that roam the grounds. Visitors can meet and feed:
Sika deer—gentle and graceful, they’re always a favorite for selfies
Alpacas—fuzzy and friendly, and surprisingly photogenic
Capybaras—the world’s largest (and cutest) rodent, calmly lounging in the sun
Mini pigs, goats, rabbits, and wallabies
The farm is carefully laid out to allow safe, respectful interactions with these animals. Kids love it—but even adults find it hard to resist the charm of hand-feeding a deer or watching a capybara splash in the water.
A Touch of Japan in Taiwan’s Countryside
Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm stands out with its beautiful, Japanese-inspired garden, modeled after Nara Park. With wooden torii gates, stone paths, and seasonal flowers, the farm creates a peaceful setting that feels straight out of a postcard. You can even rent traditional Japanese yukata or kimono and wander the grounds in style—perfect for snapping Instagram-worthy photos or creating unforgettable memories with loved ones.
This East-meets-Taiwan design has made the farm a hotspot for photographers, couples, and families alike. It’s no surprise that the farm has become one of the most “Instagrammable” places in Yilan.
Seasonal DIY Activities for the Whole Family
At the heart of the Zhang Mei Ama experience is its commitment to hands-on learning. The farm offers a variety of fun and educational DIY workshops that change with the seasons. Some popular activities include:
Making traditional sweet potato balls
Preparing bamboo tube rice
Learning how to shape local treats like mochi or tangyuan
Seasonal scallion picking and pancake-making
These workshops not only let you taste the flavors of Taiwan, but also teach valuable lessons about farming, food preparation, and local heritage.
