Safety and Legality

Safety and legality are the most important considerations when you are enjoying the nightlife. Taipei Metro will stop operating after midnight. Please arrange a return taxi or car in advance.

Bring Your ID or Passport (Foreigners)

Bring your ID or passport: Nightclubs in Taipei are often raided by police, so if you are a foreigner, remember to bring your passport.

Take Care of Your Personal Belongings

Take care of your personal belongings, drink in moderation, and do not drive after drinking. Cash is still the main payment method, bring the cash you need to spend tonight.

Don’t Dress too Casually

Some nightclubs also have clothing regulations. For example, people wearing slippers, sandals, sleeveless tops, etc. are not allowed to enter, so you still have to pay more attention to your attire.

Some bars offer happy hour deals until 9pm, and are busiest on Friday and Saturday nights, so they stay open longer. Please abide by the laws of Taiwan. The drinking age is 18 and the smoking age is 20, but e-cigarettes and marijuana are illegal in Taiwan.

Ladies have fun and return home safe

Basically, public security in Taiwan is good, which is recognized by the world, but it does not mean that there are no bad people. Ladies are advised to drink alcohol in moderation. If you go clubbing with friends, suggest you take a ride home together. When passing through residential areas late at night, remember to lower your volume to avoid disturbing community residents.

Taiwan Nightlife Guide: More than 30 years ago, when I was 20 years old, I worked in a dance hall in Taiwan for a year and occasionally went to bars and nightclubs. Later, when I went to Canada, I went to bars and table dance with my friends a few times. I have never been to any of the new nightclubs in Taiwan, so I can only collect some information for your reference.

Some nightclubs allow women free entry until 11pm (this may not apply on Fridays and Saturdays). Not to mention the tickets, the prices vary greatly in different cases, but they are basically all below NT$1000. If you are interested, I recommend searching through Google Maps and giving them a call. Nightclub PRs generally speak English. Enjoy your Taiwan night club show.
