About Taitung

Taitung is located in the southeast of Taiwan, and most of its territory is located south of the Tropic of Cancer. Taitung City is surrounded by mountains and the sea and is rich in natural resources. The Best Month to Visit Taitung

The best season to travel to Taitung is from May to June and from October to December, when the rice is ripe. These two harvest seasons are great opportunities for visitors to enjoy the golden waves of rice. From July to September, you can participate in large-scale events such as the Taitung Hot Air Balloon Carnival and the Aboriginal Harvest Festival.

How to Get To?

There are different modes of transportation to reach Taitung. Whether you travel by plane, train or car, you can have a different travel experience. The most convenient way to get to Taitung is by plane. There are regular flights departing from many cities in Taiwan every day, but the airfare is very expensive. Most locals book their train tickets in advance and then take a nap on the train before arriving. You can play all night before taking the train so that you can sleep well on the train.

Trains are the most popular and affordable way to get from Taipei to Taitung. It is very important to book your train tickets in advance, especially on weekends and holidays, as train tickets can easily sell out.

Where to Stay?

Taitung’s attractions are mainly distributed in Taitung City, Chihshang, Zhiben, Luye and other places, so these places are also the favorite accommodation areas for tourists visiting Taitung. We usually stay near Taitung Tourism Night Market and Tiehua Music Village. Our night life will not be boring. We can walk around the area after dinner.

Best Things to Do in Taitung

▲ 多良火車站 Duoliang Station
Since 2006, the train has stopped stopping there due to low passenger volume. However, the station is still known as the most beautiful station in Taiwan for its excellent geographical scenery. This is the best spot to watch the sunrise and sunset

▲鹿野高台 Luye Highland hot air balloon area
Luye Highland has an excellent view of the fields. From June to August every year, Luye Highland will hold hot air balloon activities, where you can experience the joy of a hot air balloon taking off.

▲ 伯朗大道 Mr. Brown Avenue
Mr. Brown Avenue is about 2.2 kilometers long. The trail was first popularized by Takeshi Kaneshiro in a series of commercials for Mr. Brown Coffee. Since there are no electric poles on both sides, it is very pleasant to ride a bicycle here when the golden rice ears on both sides are ripe.
